Session 9

Band of Survivors

What is our mission if not the proclamation of the good news? The gospel is the proclamation of King Yeshua and the inauguration of his kingdom. The kingdom will be universal, but until then, it must be carried by “a remnant” and “a band of survivors,” as it says in Isaiah: “For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this” (Isaiah 37:32). Our mission is not for the timid. We should be bold, loud, and proud about our allegiance to Yeshua and make no apologies for it. We should look to the heroic story of Rabbi Daniel Zion. Rabbi Zion pulled no punches when facing down the Nazis to defend Bulgarian Jewry, and he showed no fear when proclaiming Yeshua’s name in Israel. We should form a “band of survivors” who proclaim Messiah as King, but we must ensure we are proclaiming the real Yeshua, i.e., the Jewish one, as Daniel Zion insisted. That’s a large enough mission for one lifetime.
