Session 3

Baseless Love

The Temple was destroyed, and the Jewish people went into exile due to the sin of baseless hatred. The history of the Apostolic Era shows us a Jewish people deeply divided on political and theological lines—a world much like ours today—filled with baseless hatred, complete intransigence, and an absence of empathy. Yeshua saw the exile while it was still on the horizon. He knew why it was coming, and he told us the cure even before the wound was inflicted. Yeshua’s message of repentance called on his disciples to practice baseless love, which means loving those who do not deserve it. As followers of the Messiah, we should be the ones leading the way in bringing the redemption.
