Club leaders are the heart and soul of Torah Club. Each week, men and women worldwide pray, study, and prepare to host their students in churches, synagogues, coffee shops, and their homes.
No matter the group size, leadership is not easy. Leaders frequently need support and encouragement, and this is the purpose of the quarterly Leaders’ Roundtable.
This week, the Torah Club staff hosted the final Leaders’ Roundtable of 2020. We were pleased to have the best turnout we have ever had for a Roundtable meeting! It was wonderful to see hundreds of leaders around the world gathered on Zoom. Some of our leaders woke up in the middle of the night to attend the Roundtable in “real-time.”
At each Roundtable, we share news and updates with our leaders. The meeting’s main segment features leadership training tailored for our club leaders from Community Care Coordinator, Damian Eisner. In this final session of the year, Damian finished a teaching series based on the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. One of the key points of the night was, “You are what you repeat.” Throughout this series, Damian emphasized that we grow as leaders as we make small, incremental improvements in our daily lives.
Though Atomic Habits is a secular book, Damian noted the book’s biblical principles and the specific applications for our Torah Club Leaders. Damian also spent some time sharing about the importance of learning from our failures. Every failure, Damian emphasized, is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Torah Club Leaders do not have to be gifted teachers. However, our leaders are people committed to serving as facilitators and guides for their small learning communities. The quarterly Roundtable is a great way for our leaders to grow and become stronger disciples themselves.
*Torah Club Leaders also attend an additional quarterly meeting called Leaders’ Enrichment. This meeting is designed as a unique learning opportunity for our club leaders. Each Enrichment features Messianic Jewish teaching from FFOZ staff or a guest scholar. The next Enrichment meeting is Tuesday, December 8, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. Dr. Jennifer Rosner will be our guest teacher.
